Japan Chicken is an Erode special trending recipe. Erode special Japan chicken is prepared by adding fried chicken in rich creamy cashew and milk white sauce.
Japan chicken/ Malai chicken is can be easily prepared at home. The recipe needs very basic ingredients in its making. It tastes good as appetizer or can be relished with roti/ parotta/ biryani too. As the recipe has nothing to do with Japan.
I wanted to try this recipe for a very long time. But wasn’t sure about its taste or making. So asked for its recipe from my friend who tried making it. I made few tweaks to the recipe after seeing the pics of it in youtube. It was worth trying as it tasted soooo yum. It is addictive too. It tasted like chicken based Mac n Cheese.
INGREDIENTS TO MAKE ERODE SPECIAL JAPAN CHICKEN
FLOUR: I used maida and rice flour instead of corn flour which enhanced the taste. For healthier version you could try oats flour too.
SPICES: I used pepper powder and chilli powder for marinating chicken. It helps to achieve nice color and spiciness.
CREAM and MILK : Adding both to the dish elevates the taste and gives excellent consistency to the dish.
CASHEWS: Adds taste, sweetness, richness and texture to the sauce.
OIL : Used for deep frying chicken. But I shallow fried chicken in this recipe.
BUTTER: Salted or Unsalted butter works for the sauce.
GARLIC : Adds flavor to the sauce. Do not skip it.
KASURI METHI: Adds flavor to the dish.
CORIANDER LEAVES : Adds freshness and flavors to the dish also serves as garnish.

HOw to make Erode special Japan chicken with step by step images
- In a bowl add washed and chopped chicken cubes, pepper powder, chilli powder, rice flour, maida, salt and little water. Coat chicken well in the mixture. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.
- Heat enough oil in a pan/ kadai. When hot add each batter coated chicken cube. Fry until golden brown and cooked. When done keep it aside.
- In a pan add butter when it melts add finely chopped garlic and green chilli. Saute till golden and aromatic. Now add milk, cream, cashew powder, sugar, little salt, pepper powder and kasuri methi. Mix well.
- When mixture starts to boil add fried chicken and finely chopped coriander leaves. Once combined put off the flame snd serve it hot.
