INGREDIENTS TO MAKE TOMATO BASIL PASTA
PASTA: I have used spaghetti in this recipe but you could use any pasta variety of your choice.
ONION: Yellow onion brings a mild bite to the sauce also a key flavor in any spaghetti sauce.
TOMATOES: For a freshness, taste and flavor I have used ripe red colored Roma tomatoes from the garden. You could buy them farmers market or store. Regular tomatoes can be replaced with cherry tomatoes too, so you could skip the grinding process. Store bough tomato paste can also be used if you don’t have much time.
OLIVE OIL: Olive oil works best when preparing pasta/ any Italian dish, but you could use butter or any other cooking oil.
GARLIC: Garlic, crushed or finely chopped elevates the flavors of the dish, so do not skip it.
FRESH BASIL: Fresh basil leaves elevates the taste and flavor of this pasta, make sure to use them either chopped or as leaves in full.
SPICES AND HERBS: I have used chilli powder/ paprika and chilli flakes for color and spiciness. You could use pepper powder too. Also Italian seasoning has been used.
CREAM: Cream gives this pasta a creamy texture snd rich taste. It can be replaced with coconut milk too.
CHEESE: Parmesan cheese adds salty and nutty taste to the pasta also a pleasant crunch and creaminess to the dish. It can be skipped if you don’t have it at home.
