Air fryer Chicken pakora/ Air fryer chicken pakoda is a crisp, juicy, flavorful, delicious yet guilt free appetizer/ snack where marinated boneless chicken pieces are Air fried to perfection.
This chicken pakoda is traditionally a deep fried snack but couldn’t resist myself from posting this recipe as it has been raining heavily almost everywhere, hence posted Air fried version just like
Air fryer Fish pakora, Air fryer onion pakora, Air fryer chicken 65
because our tummies need/ deserve little break from deep fried food right that we consumed for Diwali/ Deepavali?
So here is an Air fried version which is a super easy and quick to make recipe which is definitely a crowd pleaser during any party/ potluck too. Adding this to my Air fryer recipes like this:
Air fryer corn manchuria, Air fryer chicken cutlet, Air fryer tandoori chicken wings, Air fryer chilli fish, Air fryer bread pakora, Air fryer chicken 65 fried rice, Air fryer baingan bharta, Air fryer fish pakora, Air fryer lauki kofta curry, Air fryer veg manchurian, Air fryer chilli gobi
In this recipe you can alter spiciness according to your liking also I haven’t added any edible food color for that eye appealing feel, but you can add or skip it according to your preference. Also when you double the quantity of chicken the quantity of all other ingredients double also the egg whites which is the binding ingredient so don’t miss it.
Everyone make chicken pakoda differently and this particular recipe is my home style hope you guys like it. So let’s get to the making of chicken pakora!

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER CHICKEN PAKORA WITH STEP BY STEP IMAGES
- Take the chicken breast and chop it into cubes. Wash it thoroughly and transfer it to a bowl. Now to the chicken breast cubes add red chili powder, garam masala powder, pinch of turmeric powder (never skip while cooking non veg), salt, ginger garlic paste, rice flour, besan/ gram flour, egg white, curry leaves and ½ tsp oil. Mix everything well so that the chicken is well coated in masala. I added 1 tbsp water while mixing. Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Preheat Air fryer at 400 for 5 minutes. ( I have CRUX air fryer at home and the below mentioned cook time suits me, timing may vary a little according to the brand) When the air fryer is preheated brush a tbsp of oil on the baking rack/ place a parchment paper on the baking rack (prevents chicken from sticking) then place the chicken pieces one by one evenly without overcrowding. Do not place really big chunks as the inside might not get cooked fully. Brush a tsp oil over the chicken pieces as well (optional). Now add curry leaves and green chilli. Now cook for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes you will notice that the chicken is evenly cooked and crisp. Now flip the chicken pieces/ toss them and Air fry for another 1 minute. After 1 minute remove the chicken pieces from the air fryer and cook the next batch. Serve it hot immediately.
