Kodo millet flakes upma/ Millet flakes upma is a delicious, healthy and super quick to make breakfast that can be prepared with basic ingredients in just 10 minutes. Yes just 10 minutes you need to prepare and cook. Unbelievable right? Millet flakes are kind of regular poha but much healthier, thinner and light in look and taste.

- 1. Kodo millet flakes – 2 cups
- 2. Onion – 1 (small sized, finely chopped)
- 3. Green chilli – 2
- 4. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- 5. Salt – to taste
- 1. Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- 2. Urad dal – 1 tsp
- 3. Chana dal – ½ tsp
- 4. Peanuts – 1 tbsp
- 5. Dry red chilli – 1
- 6. Cumin seeds/ Jeera – ¼ tsp
- 7. Curry leaves – a sprig
- 8. Oil – 2 tsp
- 9. Hing – few pinches
- * 1 cup = 235 ml
- Wash kodo millet flakes and keep It aside. Chop onions and green chili and set it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan/ kadai to it add cumin seeds after it crackles add mustard seeds when they splutter add urad dal ,channa dal, peanuts, red chili and saute till golden brown. Make sure not to burn the dal.
- When dals turn brown add hing, curry leaves, chopped onions and green chili to it and saute until onion turns slightly brown then add turmeric to it and after a quick stir add rinsed millet flakes along with salt and give It gentle stir and you will notice the flakes getting cooked. In almost 30 seconds the flakes will be completely cooked. Put off the flame and serve it Immediately with a sprinkle of sev.
How to make Kodo millet flakes upma with step by step images
