Blueberry cream cheese puff pastry is a delicious, puffy, flaky pastry prepared by filling puff pastry sheets with cream cheese and blueberry filling , then baked to perfection. If you have puff pastry sheets ready at home then this takes just 10 minutes to prepare and yummy dessert/ breakfast will be ready in no time. In this recipe the combination of cream cheese and blueberry filling works great so do not skip it and I can assure that you will definitely fall in love with it. This puff pastry dessert will be great for potlucks/ party too as there is nothing much to prepare but still give you satisfying output. So let’s get to the making of blueberry cream cheese puff pastry!!
- 1. Puff pastry sheets – 4
- 2. Fresh Blueberry – ½ cup
- 3. Sugar – 3 to 4 tbsp
- 4. Cream cheese – ¼ cup
- 5. Milk – 3 tbsp (for milk wash)
- 6. Water – ¼ cup
- * 1 cup = 235 ml
- Firstly take the pastry sheets out of the freezer and keep it at room temperature so that it will be thawed by the time we prepare the blueberry filling.
- Heat a pan to it add blueberries and sugar. Mix well until combined. Now add ¼ cup water and let the mixture boil. After 2 to 3 minutes the mixture will thicken then put off the flame and Keep the mixture aside. Allow it to cool down completely.
- Preheat oven at 400 F. Now take one pastry sheet place it on the baking tray on it place some ( a tbsp) cream cheese mixture, then a tbsp of blueberry on the top of cream cheese both in the center of the pastry. Now fold it and seal the edges with water and press it well with fork. Make the remaining puffs the same way. Now let’s milk wash the using a basting brush. Dip the basting the brush in milk and apply it over puffs. The process is known as milk wash to yield golden brown exterior. I sprinkled some sugar on the top the of the puff pastry which is optional.
- Now place the baking tray in preheated oven and bake at 400F for 15 minutes or until you see the puffs in golden color with flaky texture. When done remove the baking tray from the oven and serve it hot.
