- 1. Basmati rice -1 ½ cup
- 2. Sprouted moong – 1 cup
- 3. Onion – 1
- 4. Green chilli - 2
- 5. Ginger garlic paste – ½ tsp
- 6. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- 7. Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- 8. Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- 9. Salt – to taste
- 10. Oil – 1 tbsp
- 1. Bay leaf - 1
- 2. Star anise - 1
- 3. Clove - 2
- 4. Cinnamon stick - ½
- 5. Cumin seeds - ¼ tsp
- * 1 cup = 235 ml
- Wash and soak rice in water for 20 minutes. Slice onions thin and make slit in green chilli and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan add whole spices when aromatic add sliced onions and green chili ; Saute well. Now add ginger garlic paste to it and saute until the raw smell goes then add sprouted moong, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix well.
- When everything looks combined add soaked rice and water. Mix well and transfer it to electric rice cooker and cook till done. (If using pressure cooker cook for 3 whistles).
- When done allow the rice to rest for 5 minutes and using a spatula take the rice from the sides and serve it hot!
