Peas masala pulao is a spicy, yummy and flavorful pulao where rice is cooked in masala peas milk mixture. This is such an easy and simple to make pulao which becomes very handy on a busy day and works great as lunchbox recipe too. For the below recipe I have used milk in the making to enhance the taste and flavor. The water measurement mentioned below for cooking rice is according to my rice, it may differ. So lets get to the making!

Ingredients
- Green peas – ¾ cup
- Small Onion – 1
- Green chili – 2
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – a pinch
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Milk – 1 cup
- Water – 1 ¼ cup (approx)
- Oil – 1 tbsp
Whole spices
- Bay leaf – 1
- Star anise – 1
- Clove – 3
- Cinnamon stick – ½
- Cardamom – 1
- Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp

How to make Peas masala pulao with step by step images
- Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes. Chop onions and make slit in the chili.
- Heat oil in a pan add whole spices when aromatic add onions and green chili. Saute well and add ginger garlic paste to it.
- When the raw flavor of ginger garlic goes, add peas and red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
- When the raw flavor of the masala powder goes add soaked rice, water and milk. Mix well.
- Transfer it to rice cooker or when using pressure cooker cook for 3 whistles. When done serve it hot with raita!
