Rava dosa is a crispy Indian crepe made with rava and rice flour. This is an instant recipe and requires no pre preparation and has very simple ingredients in its making. I was so keen to learn about rava dosa making when I started cooking as I have 2 important people in my life who like rava dosa that’s my hubby and dad so this recipe is close to my heart. I prepare rava dosa with kadappa gravy as side accompany as I am used to it but it tastes well with sambar and chutney as well. So lets get to the making!

Ingredients
- Rava/ sooji – ½ cup
- Rice flour – 1½ cup
- Maida – 2 tbsp
- Curd – ¼ cup
- Water – 2 ¾ cup
- Salt – as needed
- Oil – for making dosa
For tempering
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 2 tsp
- Chopped green chili – 1
- Curry leaves – a spring

How to make rava dosa with step by step images
- In a bowl add sooji/ rava and curd. Mix well.
- Now add rice flour, maida and salt. Mix everything well and add water to it gradually to form a batter without any lumps the batter should be thin like buttermilk. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile heat oil in a small pan add cumin seeds after it splutters add green chili and curry leaves and put off the flame. Pour it in the batter and mix well.
- Now heat a tava and pour the batter making outer circle then filling the inner portion with batter.(Each time you take a ladle of batter mix well and take). Drizzle oil over it and allow the dosa to cook. It might take little more time than the regular dosa. When you see the sides browning flip it gently and cook. When done transfer it to a plate and serve it hot with kadapa, chutney and sambar.
