Nei appam is an instant sweet recipe prepared with wheat flour and banana during festivals like Gokulashtami and Karthika deepam. This appam is very soft, healthy and tastes delicious as it is cooked with ghee. This recipe is very easy to prepare and has only few basic ingredients in its making! So lets get to the making!

Ingredients
- Wheat flour – 1 cup
- Rice flour – 2 tsp
- Small Banana – 2
- Jaggery – 2/3 cup
- Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
- Grated coconut – 2 tbsp (optional)
- Salt a pinch
- Ghee – 2 tbsp

How to make nei appam with step by step images
- Peel banana and mash them in a bowl.
- Now in the same bowl add wheat flour, rice flour, cardamom powder, jaggery, coconut( optional), and salt. Mix it well and add water gradually to it to form thick batter. ( I added around ¾ cup water with the same cup I measured wheat flour).
- Now heat paniyaram pan drizzle some ghee in each mold then add batter in each mold. Cover it with a lid and cook. When the edges brown flip it carefully and cook till done. Then remove from heat and serve it hot.
