Tomato pappu is an easy go and little tangy pappu which is always my top priority when I have only tomatoes at home as it takes very less time to make and still tastes delicious. Though I am not a big fan of tomatoes this is something I used make for my hubby and now I myself find it tasty. So lets get to the recipe quickly !

Ingredients
- Toor dal – 1 cup
- Tomato – 2
- Onion -1
- Garlic – 1
- Green chili – 1
- Sun dried chili – 2
- Mustard – ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt

How to make Tomato pappu with step by step images
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker add sun dried chili, when aromatic add mustard seeds when they splutter add cumin seeds, curry leaves, garlic, green chili, chopped onions and saute until they become translucent.
- Now add tomato to it along with turmeric powder and salt. After a quick stick add toor dal and water. Pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
- When the pressure subsides mix the dal and serve it hot with rice.
