Dates kheer recipe, Khajoor ki kheer

Dates kheer/ Khajoor kheer is tasty, healthy and quick to make kheer/ milk sweet loaded with nuts and khajoor/ dates. You guys would have guessed why this kheer post is here. Yes, the holy month of Ramadan/ Ramzan is about to begin and we will need to energize us with healthy food and drinks for “IFTAR” and thought to share our house kheer recipe that my MIL makes for us.

This kheer can be prepared not for ramadan but for anytime you need something quick to satisfy your sweet cravings in a healthy way. Healthy? How? Yes it is definitely healthy as it carries no sugar other than the sweetness from dates.

But of course you can add very little sugar to it or even condensed milk very little quantity to enhance its taste and sweetness which depends on individual’s preference. But according to me its not necessary for the quantity of milk that I have mentioned, as the sweetness from dates will enough. For this recipe full cream milk only works best so make sure you use the same. Also I have seen many of them grind dates to paste then add it just like carrot kheer, but at our home we like it this way. So let’s get to the making!
