Indian style tomato spaghetti/ Desi style tomato spaghetti is prepared by tossing cooked spaghetti in spicy onion tomato sauce flavored and seasoned with Indian spices. Those spices and flavors is what we sometimes need/ miss while eating Italian spaghetti. But that’s how it should be when you say it “ITALIAN SPAGHETTI”😂 (Just kidding)
Trust me guys this Indian style spaghetti recipe is one such delicious recipe (not that I prepared) that will surely be liked anyone. I have been trying to replicate a spaghetti recipe that I had since childhood in “ABU DHABI MARINA MALL”. The taste just kept lingering in my mouth every time I prepare this Indian spaghetti at home.
This recipe is one such trial that I made and this is always a hit at home whenever I make it. so thought to share the same in blog as well. I don’t remember the restaurant name but if you are one among like me who likes desi style/ Indian style spaghetti then this recipe is just for you.

HOW TO MAKE INDIAN STYLE TOMATO SPAGHETTI WITH STEP BY STEP IMAGES
- In a blender add chopped onion and tomatoes. Grind into paste without adding water. Keep it aside.
- In a pan add chopped garlic, saute well. Now add the ground onion tomato puree in the pan.
- To the onion tomato paste add salt, chili powder, coriander powder and cumin powder. Mix well and cook the mixture in low to medium flame with lid on for 20 to 25 minutes until the oil oozes in the sides.
- Meanwhile, In a pot add water, oil and salt. Mix well and allow it to boil well. When the water is rolling boil add uncooked spaghetti pasta, mix well and cook till done (This should take about 10 to 12 minutes).
- When it looks cooked drain the water and run the cooked pasta in regular water and keep it aside. This helps pasta from non sticking to one another.
- After 25 minutes when the oil oozes in the sides and you see bright red color of the sauce add Italian seasoning snd red chili flakes. Mix well and check for the desired consistency. If your mixture looks little dry add little water and allow the mixture to boil.
- When the spaghetti sauce it ready add cooked pasta and toss well. Switch off flame and garnish it with chopped parsley and some cheese.
