Maida halwa is one such quick and easy halwa recipes that I have learnt from my mom in law. Maida halwa is prepared with maida, sugar and ghee and takes only 15 minutes to make. This halwa can be served for any special occasion or festival and can be easily prepared even by beginners. This halwa is a delicious and hassle free recipe and requires no roasting, sugar syrup or any string consistency and that is the reason i like to make it. The sugar mentioned below is according to my family, you can alter its quantity according to your taste and preference. So lets quickly get to the making!

Ingredients

  • Maida – Âľ cup
  • Water – 1 ÂĽ cup
  • Sugar – ½ cup
  • Ghee – ÂĽ cup
  • Cashews- 8
  • Cardamom powder – a pinch
  • Food color – a pinch

How to make maida halwa with step by step images

  1. Take maida in a bowl. Add water in it and mix well without forming any lumps. Keep it aside.

  2. Heat ghee in a pan add cashews and fry them until golden brown. Now reduce the flame to low and add the maida mixture to it. Stir continuously as it will thicken very quickly. After 3 to 4 minutes of stirring it should become like a ball of dough.

  3. After the mixture becomes thick and resembles dough, add food color and mix well. Finally add cardamom powder and sugar. Mix well, if required add some ghee. When the halwa starts to leave the pan put off the flame and serve.
